Kushiage, love it !

Let me introduce to you another food we love in Japan.

Kushiage.

What is Kushiage?

“Kushi” is the Japanese word for skewers.

“Age”  means “to fry.”

White fish and the other one is a Japanese Lotus root

 

Kushiage can be made with chicken, beef,  pork,  seafood, [...]

We love Tonkatsu !

One of my favorite food  in Japan is Tonkatsu.

Ton comes from the kanji for “buta” which means pig.

Kanji has the meaning and reading for each character -  the kanji character “pig” is also read as “Ton”.

“Katsu” – is from the word  “Katsu-retto”  the katakana reading for “Cutlet”   

Tonkatsu therefore, is pork [...]
