The day we cried for Japan

March 11, 2011

The Earthquake – Magnitude 9.0 @ JST 2:46 p.m.

Name:  Tohoku-kanto Daijishin  (Big Earthquake of Tohoku-Kanto area)

(Northern Japan and the Kanto region that included – Iwate, Miyagi, Fukushima,  Aomori, Kanto – Chiba and Tokyo)

Tsunami washed away towns
Fires here and there,
Trains stopped, people stranded

Some say, “the worse disaster since World War 2 !”

Many of the victims call it the “devil”

The wrath of nature and “what water can do”

Thousands of people have lost their families, their homes, their towns

Plus the  threat of a nuclear disaster

Oh God, these people have nothing but hope

Please help the men and women at the nuclear plants

These are heroes risking their lives to save the nation and the world from a possible nuclear disaster

Please pray for everyone…

People lining up at train stations, many walked for hours back to their homes

Earthquake victims line up to buy food

The whole world watches.

The whole world cries.

The whole world prays.

The whole world sent their support and donations.

Hang on Japan, Gambatte !

Japan will rebuild and recover.

Let us continue to pray.

ARIGATO !

    Dear Farah,

Since the very first time I came in contact with you so many years ago, I’ve felt a special connection… You helped me cope with a terrible loss and gave me hope.
I want you to rely on me now. I have you in my heart and in my mind. Japan will recover because its people are noble, gracious, disciplined and strong. Our Lord won’t abandon them. I’ll keep on praying. Stay strong my friend, have faith.

It’s heartbreaking. Japan will recover, it’s catastrophic, I am praying and hoping that the nuclear plant will teach our world leaders a lesson. “What man had created, will also wipe out civilization

Both sides of my dad’s and mom’s families have been victims of Emperor of Japan’s Imperial Army’s World War II atrocities. My late uncle soldiers too suffered and died in their battles against floods of bayonettes and deathly Bataan march…but I pray for you Japan.

My daughter in the Navy, just said their ship are helping Japan now. Thank God for everyone helping each other in time of crisis. I believe Japan will rise above this one day. Smile once again. Let’s join our hearts and hands lifting JAPAN to our God. He knows what’s happening to His children in Japan. I’m praying that God will heal and comfort every family and that He will provide all their needs. I saw a woman on the television being interviewed. While she was telling her story on how she survived the tragedy, I was crying, my heart was breaking…but I didn’t see her cry…The Lord has dried her tears already. And now she’s ready to move on, she just needs our prayers and encouragement. GOD BLESS JAPAN!

  • Farah….and the whole world is hurting, too, for the Japanese people. Despite the destruction, Japan is showing how order and discipline can help out in the rescue and recovery efforts. It is a testament to their high moral and cultural values.

  • I’ve been living here in Japan for almost two decades, I have learned to love the culture, the place and the people. For ten days now, we have been living in fear, of what else is to come and what will be..buti can see the resilience in every japanese who survived this calamity, and i say to myself…the Japanese will rise again.

  • Farah

Thank you everyone for all your comments. Yes, I also have been living here for long, and it is only now that something like this happened… But deep in my heart, I know – Japan will rebuild and recover.
Thank you for all the prayers. Please share my blog and ask for prayers. God bless you all. Take care wherever you are.

The devastation was so unbelievable since day one , could not imagine that this disaster will happen to a very industrialized country. My deepest symaphaty to all the families who lost loved ones and prayers for the people of Japan for a speedy recovery, a lot of challenges ahead but Japan will surely make it.
