The beauty of this flower is appreciated by most Japanese – I think that many Japanese people love the “Sakura.”
For many, it reminds them of a new start - that comes with Spring.
April in Japan is the “beginning of a new year” ; it is “the start” of a new year for students, and for fresh graduates who will enter their new companies, a new life.
So, the blooming of the cherry blossoms can mean a lot to more people who are in this phase of their lives.
The beauty of these flowers is also so much appreciated because – we wait for it to bloom for a year, and it only stays for about a week or two.
Personally, when I am in Japan, I enjoy my birthday because the sakuras are usually in full bloom.
Hanami comes from the words- “Hana” – flower, and the verb “Miru” – to watch or view, therefore, it means” flower watching.”

… now i understand better why Japanese celebrate whenever sakura flower is in bloom… it doesn’t stay for long and people tend to miss its beauty.
Very nice, Farzy!
Am glad you liked the videos. We look forward to the sakuras every year… they come once a year… usually for my birthday in April… then stay for about two weeks… then the flowers fall… then we will wait again… that is why it is so special and beautiful…
